Luxsols were released on November 26th, 2015, and are among the site's first official creatures that were released. Luxsols are available in the Cold Biomes. They have a total of three variants: the normal variant, the rare albino variant, and the brown breed-only variant.
Luxsols have deep blue-black fur with darker purple tips on their manes and tails. These creatures are only a little bit bigger than typical red foxes found on Earth. Their tails and manes are quite long and luxuriously soft, which they keep well groomed and clean. Luxsols have white irises and normal black pupils. Sometimes when a Luxsol egg hatches, there is a low chance of the baby being born albino with white fur and pink features (eyes, nose, paw pads, etc.). Many nobles seek out albino Luxsols simply because they find them to be a lavish and easy-to-care-for pet.
Luxsols are quite mysterious because of their magic ability, and no one has been able to study them in the wild. It is actually exceedingly rare to spot one in the wild, since they are very alert and skittish creatures with great control over their magic skills.
Luxsols who are tamed from eggs are much easier to observe and study. Each has their own personality that differs from one individual to the next, but for the most part, they make loyal companions even if somewhat aloof at times.
Many are used by criminals as stealth companions because they can easily use their magic to steal valuable items and gold from unsuspecting townsfolk. Under care of mages, if trained correctly they can make for powerful, evasive attackers in battle. Once hit a few times though, an opponent is sure to win, as Luxsols can't take many hits. Nevertheless, they are gret companions to have, especially for solitary types.
A Luxsol's main ability is the manipulation of shadows, which they use to perform powerful shadow attacks and evade moves by transforming into a shadow themselves to merge with other shadows created by the environment. This essentially makes them invisible to their opponents. Apart from this unique ability, Luxsols also know other various magic spells and shielding spells. Long ago, an albino Luxsol owned by a powerful mage was able to manipulate light in the same way as shadows could be manipulated. This Luxsol, known as Ceren, was a key player in helping to restore balance into the world, when the Corruption threatened to take it over.
